Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Man with Van Ickenham is committed to conducting all aspects of its business ethically, responsibly, and in full compliance with applicable laws. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery within our operations and supply chains, and describes the measures we take to identify, assess, and address risks related to forced labour, human trafficking, and exploitation.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with or support any business, contractor, or individual involved in practices that are exploitative, coercive, or abusive. This commitment applies to all areas of our business, including recruitment, subcontracting, procurement of goods and services, and any other commercial relationships.
All directors, employees, and regular contractors are expected to act with integrity and to support this policy in all day-to-day activities. Any breach of this policy by staff may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Man with Van Ickenham provides transport, removals, and related services. Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, packaging and equipment suppliers, and occasional use of subcontracted labour. While we consider our direct exposure to modern slavery risk to be relatively low, we recognise that no business is immune and we are committed to proactive vigilance.
We seek to work only with reputable suppliers and partners who share our commitment to ethical working practices and respect for human rights. We expect these parties to uphold equivalent standards throughout their own operations and supply chains.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We undertake proportionate due diligence on key suppliers and subcontractors as part of our onboarding and ongoing relationship management. This includes assessing their approach to labour standards, health and safety, and ethical conduct. Where appropriate, we ask suppliers to confirm that they comply with relevant modern slavery and human trafficking legislation and that they have measures in place to prevent exploitation.
We reserve the right to audit suppliers and subcontractors, either directly or through third parties, to verify compliance with our standards and with applicable laws. These audits may include review of policies, worker terms and conditions, and recruitment practices. Where issues are identified, we will work with the supplier on corrective actions, but we may suspend or terminate relationships with any party that fails to address legitimate concerns or is found to be involved in modern slavery.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Man with Van Ickenham encourages everyone connected with our business, including employees, subcontractors, agency workers, and suppliers, to report any concerns about suspected modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised directly with management, through internal reporting lines, or during supplier review meetings. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly.
We will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not substantiated upon investigation. Where appropriate, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies and other relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We aim to raise awareness among relevant staff about the risks of modern slavery and the indicators of exploitation, particularly for those involved in recruitment, supplier selection, or contract management. Training and guidance are provided so that employees understand how to identify potential issues and how to escalate concerns appropriately.
Monitoring, Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
This statement and our underlying procedures are reviewed at least annually to ensure they remain effective, relevant, and aligned with best practice and legal requirements. The review includes consideration of emerging risks in our sector, feedback from staff and suppliers, and any incidents or concerns raised during the year.
Where we identify opportunities for improvement, we will update our processes, strengthen our due diligence, and enhance training so that we continually improve our ability to prevent and detect modern slavery. The updated statement will be approved by senior management and made available to stakeholders.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement reflects the position of Man with Van Ickenham for the current financial year and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to protecting human rights and promoting fair and safe working conditions throughout our operations and supply chain.
